Ocean Sciences (ASX: OSS), formerly BPH Global | Seaweed innovation and the blue economy

Montserrat

Sustainability at Ocean Sciences means managing the full chain from biomass and water to people, products, waste, and capital. Our blue economy work may create environmental or social value, but those outcomes depend on site conditions, operating practices, energy use, safeguards, and measured results.

Our blue economy strategy is to create more value from responsibly managed marine resources while strengthening coastal capability. The operating model connects seaweed supply, controlled cultivation, local processing, scientific partnerships, product development, and market access. The company’s priority is to move beyond a raw-material transaction where a higher-value, better-documented, or more useful product can be developed without compromising environmental controls or customer safety. Progress will be judged by commercial results, research milestones, local participation, quality and traceability, resource use, and transparent reporting.

The company operates in coastal regions where seaweed, aquaculture, fishing, logistics, and small businesses are connected. Our community approach is to create practical opportunities through local procurement, training, student placements, technical work, and market access.

Engagement starts before a project expands and includes local concerns about water, traffic, land use, employment, safety, and environmental change. The company will publish community activity with the location, participants, activity, outcome, and follow-up contact.
